What would it be like to feel absolutely grateful for your life?
How would your life look through the lenses of gratitude?
What would it be like if gratitude poured out of your soul during financial struggles, not getting what you want, uninvited circumstances, and when you feel less than enough?
Is gratitude possible in every circumstance? And if so, would it really make a difference? Can gratitude change the unfulfilling career or unanswered prayers?
When I began simplifying my life I didn’t do it to become a more grateful person. In fact, gratitude wasn’t on my radar. I felt grateful for the obvious things: my family, our home, my faith. But it definitely wasn’t something I pursued or thought it could change my life.
One day, when I had had enough of everything, I knew something big had to change. I was tired of all the stuff that cluttered my home and calendar and heart. I wasn’t content with my life, which felt ridiculous considering ALL.THE.STUFF. Minimalism seemed like the next best thing to try.
For me, decluttering my home, slowing down our activities, and choosing intentional ways of living peeled away the layers revealing my very soul. I felt exposed, in a good way, for the first time. I felt I was free to be me.
No more comparisons, no more expectations, no more busy – just me. I was enough. Finally.
Within that journey to becoming myself again, I discovered that when I felt the pull of life drawing me back into wants and false needs, it was gratitude that would ground me back in my simple life.
The shortest path to simplicity is gratitude, friends.
– Redefine enough
– Change your perspective
– Humble you
– Heal your brokenness
– Empower your prayer life
– Deepen your relationships
– Become a weapon against the thieves of joy
– Support a simple life in a complicated world
Gratitude changes everything. When gratitude is the filter through which we view our things, loved ones, and seasons of life we become love. We become the best version of ourselves because we are no longer concerned with what we get out life, but what we give back.
